 Audio-day by michael trommer and arnold von wedemeyer's was part of the exhibition 'from 0-1 and back again' which took place @ Kunsthalle Schirn in Frankfurt in August.This project was based on the concept of using sound compositions to create a dialog between individuals based in different locations; these compositions were comprised solely from local environmental sound sources, all recorded, manipulated and arranged in the same day. During the first week of the exhibition, a daily mp3 soundfile - lasting 1min 30 sec.- was emailed to the re: audio-day website; this was then remixed with new environmental sounds and returned. The same process was repeated throughout the duration of the exhibition, with parts of each previous composition constantly being remixed with new sounds, resulting in a complex and ongoing sonic sound-diary. |
